Lofty vs Follow Up Boss vs KVCore — AI CRM Comparison

I asked 20 agents at a recent conference what CRM they use. I got 15 different answers and 20 complaints. The CRM market for real estate is a mess — too many options, too many promises, and too few agents actually using their CRM to its potential.

Three platforms keep coming up in the AI conversation: Lofty (formerly Chime), Follow Up Boss, and KVCore. All three have added AI features. Here’s which one actually delivers.

Lofty (formerly Chime)

AI Features

  • AI Assistant “Ava” — automated lead follow-up via text that sounds surprisingly human
  • Smart action plans — AI suggests next steps based on lead behavior
  • Predictive lead scoring — ranks leads by likelihood to convert
  • AI-powered listing alerts — sends personalized property matches

The Good

Lofty’s AI assistant is the most impressive of the three. It can carry on text conversations with leads, qualify them, and schedule appointments — all without you touching your phone. Agents report that Ava books 2-3 appointments per week that they would have missed.

The Bad

It’s expensive and complex. The $499/month starting price is for teams, and solo agents pay $300+. The platform tries to do everything — CRM, IDX website, ad management, AI — and the learning curve reflects that. Expect 2-3 weeks before you’re comfortable.

My verdict: Best for teams with budget who want AI to handle initial lead response. Overkill for solo agents.

Follow Up Boss

AI Features

  • AI-suggested actions — “Call this lead, they just viewed a listing 3 times”
  • Smart lists — automatically segments leads by engagement level
  • AI-assisted email/text templates — suggests personalized follow-up messages
  • Integrations with 200+ lead sources — pulls everything into one inbox

The Good

Follow Up Boss is the easiest to use. Period. Most agents are productive within a day. The AI features are subtle but effective — instead of an AI chatbot, it nudges you to take the right action at the right time. The integration ecosystem is unmatched.

The Bad

No built-in lead generation. You need separate tools for IDX, ads, and lead capture. The AI features are more “smart suggestions” than true AI automation. If you want AI to do the follow-up for you, this isn’t it.

My verdict: Best for agents who want a CRM they’ll actually use. The simplicity is a feature, not a limitation. Best value for solo agents at $69/month.

KVCore

AI Features

  • AI-powered calling — behavioral-based smart dialer
  • Automated campaign engine — AI selects which drip campaign to assign
  • Predictive analytics — identifies “likely to sell” homeowners in your farm area
  • AI text follow-up — automated responses to new leads
  • Smart CMA tool — AI-assisted comparative market analysis

The Good

KVCore’s predictive analytics are genuinely useful — it identifies homeowners likely to sell based on data patterns (equity, length of ownership, life events). The all-in-one approach means you get IDX website, CRM, and marketing tools in one platform.

The Bad

The interface feels dated compared to Follow Up Boss. The learning curve is steep — agents report needing 3-4 weeks of training. And like Lofty, the $499/month team pricing puts it out of reach for many solo agents. Customer support gets mixed reviews.

My verdict: Best for teams that want lead generation and CRM in one platform, especially if you value predictive “likely to sell” data for farming.

The Real Question

Before you pick a CRM, ask yourself: will you actually use it? The best CRM is the one you open every day. I’ve seen agents on $500/month platforms who never log in, and agents on $69/month Follow Up Boss who close 40 deals a year because they actually use the system.

Start with Follow Up Boss if you’re unsure. Upgrade to Lofty or KVCore when you’ve outgrown it — not before.
