Housecall Pro Pricing (2026): Plans, Fees, and Is It Worth It?
Housecall Pro’s pricing page gives you the highlights but leaves out details that matter when you’re running the numbers for your business. Here’s the full breakdown: what you actually get at each tier, what the add-ons cost, and whether the value stacks up against alternatives like Jobber.
📅 Pricing last verified: June 2026. We check and update pricing quarterly. If you notice a change, email us.
The three plans
Basic: $65/mo (1 user)
The Basic plan covers one person. That’s you, the owner-operator, running everything from your phone. You get:
- Online booking
- Scheduling and dispatching
- Invoicing and estimates
- Payment processing (credit/debit cards)
- Customer notifications (on-my-way texts, appointment reminders)
- Basic reporting
- Google Local Services integration
- QuickBooks integration
- Mobile app (iOS and Android)
This is a solid package for a solo operator. The scheduling, invoicing, and payment processing alone replace 2-3 separate tools most contractors duct-tape together. The customer notification system (automated “your tech is on the way” texts) is a small feature that makes a big impression on homeowners.
What’s missing: No team features, no recurring service plans, limited marketing tools, basic reporting only. You can’t add additional team members without upgrading.
Essentials: $169/mo (1-5 users)
Essentials is where most small crews land. The jump from $65 to $169 is significant, but you get features that actually drive revenue:
- Everything in Basic
- Up to 5 users (additional users ~$35/mo each)
- Recurring service agreements
- Employee GPS tracking
- Drag-and-drop dispatch board
- Price book
- Expense tracking
- Instapay (next-day deposits)
- Proposal tool with digital signatures
- Customizable checklists
- Reputation management (review requests)
- Zapier integration
The dispatch board alone is worth the upgrade once you have 2+ technicians. Drag a job to a tech’s schedule, they get notified instantly on their phone. Recurring service agreements let you sell maintenance plans: monthly HVAC check-ups, quarterly cleaning visits, annual inspections: with automatic scheduling and billing.
What’s missing: Advanced marketing automation, sales pipeline, custom reporting, and dedicated account manager.
MAX: Custom pricing (5+ users)
MAX is their “call us” tier. Based on what contractors report, expect $300-500+/mo depending on team size and features. You get:
- Everything in Essentials
- Unlimited users (pricing scales per user)
- Sales pipeline and proposal tracking
- Advanced reporting and dashboards
- Marketing automation (email campaigns, postcards)
- Dedicated account manager
- Priority support
- Custom onboarding
- Open API access
MAX makes sense once you have 8-10+ technicians and you’re running enough volume that the marketing automation and sales pipeline pay for themselves. The dedicated account manager is actually useful: someone who knows your setup and can troubleshoot without you explaining your workflow from scratch every time.
Add-ons (available on any plan)
Housecall Pro sells several add-ons separately:
- Marketing tools (email, postcards, Google review management): pricing varies, typically $30-100/mo
- Sales pipeline (lead tracking, follow-up automation): included in MAX, add-on for Essentials
- Vehicle GPS tracking: additional per-vehicle fee
- Website builder: basic template site for ~$50/mo (honestly, skip this: you’ll get a better site elsewhere for less)
Payment processing fees
This is where the fine print matters:
| Method | Fee |
|---|---|
| Card on file / keyed in | 3.5% + 30¢ |
| Card present (tap/chip) | 2.6% + 30¢ |
| ACH bank transfer | 1% ($2 minimum) |
These are competitive but not the cheapest. If you process $20,000/mo in credit card payments, you’re paying roughly $520-700/mo in processing fees depending on the mix of keyed vs. present transactions. Compare that to a basic Square account at 2.6% + 10¢ (card present): Housecall Pro’s rates are slightly higher on card-present but you’re paying for the integrated workflow.
Instapay (next-business-day deposits) is included on Essentials and above. Standard processing takes 2-3 business days.
Annual vs. monthly pricing
Housecall Pro offers a discount for annual billing: typically 10-15% off the monthly rate. That puts the math roughly at:
- Basic: ~$55/mo billed annually (vs. $65 monthly)
- Essentials: ~$145/mo billed annually (vs. $169 monthly)
Annual billing saves $120-290/yr depending on the plan. Worth it once you’ve committed to the platform and know it works for your business. Don’t lock in annually during your first month.
How does Housecall Pro compare to Jobber?
| Housecall Pro | Jobber | |
|---|---|---|
| Solo plan | $65/mo (Basic) | $49/mo (Core) |
| Small team | $169/mo (Essentials, 5 users) | $129/mo (Connect, 5 users) |
| Growing team | Custom (MAX) | $249/mo (Grow, 15 users) |
| Payment processing | 2.6-3.5% + 30¢ | 2.7-3.5% + 30¢ |
| Customer notifications | Excellent | Good |
| Marketing tools | Built-in (paid add-on) | Basic |
| Mobile app | Excellent | Good |
Jobber is cheaper at every tier. Housecall Pro’s edge is the customer communication experience (automated texts, on-my-way notifications, review requests) and the marketing tools. If you’re competing in residential services where homeowner experience matters: cleaning, HVAC, plumbing, electrical: that communication edge can pay for the price difference through better reviews and repeat business.
If you’re purely focused on job management efficiency and cost, Jobber wins on value. See our detailed Jobber vs Housecall Pro vs ServiceTitan comparison and Jobber pricing breakdown for the full picture.
When to upgrade
Stay on Basic if: You’re a solo operator, you don’t need to schedule other people, and basic reporting covers your needs.
Move to Essentials when: You hire your first technician. The dispatch board and team scheduling are essential the moment you’re coordinating more than one person’s calendar.
Move to MAX when: You have 8+ technicians, you’re spending on marketing elsewhere that could be consolidated, and you want a dedicated support contact. The sales pipeline matters once you’re quoting enough jobs that leads slip through cracks.
Consider alternatives when: You’re a large operation (20+ techs) doing commercial work: at that point, ServiceTitan’s operational depth may justify its higher cost. Or if budget is tight and Jobber’s lower price point covers your needs.
Hidden costs to watch for
Beyond the plan pricing, Housecall Pro has a few costs that catch people off guard:
- Payment processing fees add up fast. On $15,000/mo in card payments, expect $400-525/mo in processing fees on top of your subscription.
- Add-on marketing tools aren’t cheap. The postcard mailer, email campaigns, and review management tools cost extra and can add $50-150/mo.
- Additional users on Essentials are ~$35/mo each after the first five. A team of 8 adds $105/mo to your bill.
- The website builder ($50/mo) is overpriced for what you get. A simple WordPress site or Squarespace page at $16/mo will look better.
Total cost of ownership for a 5-person team using Essentials with payment processing and a couple add-ons: realistically $350-500/mo all-in, not the $169 on the pricing page.

FAQ
Is there a free trial?
Yes: Housecall Pro offers a 14-day free trial on all plans. No credit card required to start. This is enough time to test scheduling, invoicing, and the mobile app with real jobs.
Can I keep my existing phone number?
You can set up a Housecall Pro business line, but it’s a separate number. It doesn’t replace your existing business phone. The value is in the automated text features (appointment confirmations, on-my-way notifications): those go out from the Housecall Pro number.
Does Housecall Pro work offline?
The mobile app has limited offline functionality. You can view scheduled jobs and basic customer info without cell service. Creating invoices, processing payments, and syncing changes require internet. For technicians working in basements or rural areas, this matters: sync before you lose signal.
Are there contracts or cancellation fees?
Monthly plans are month-to-month: cancel anytime. Annual plans lock you in for 12 months. If you cancel an annual plan early, you typically owe the remaining balance. Start monthly, switch to annual once you’re committed.
Does the price include the card reader hardware?
The first card reader is free on paid plans. Replacement readers cost $50-100. The reader supports chip, tap, and swipe payments. You can also process payments through the app by keying in card numbers (at the higher 3.5% rate).
